Brexing Petz!
If we left breeding up to the game, we would end up with all sorts of interesting looking petz! Although that can be fun it can be a tad annoying when you already know what you want ;]
The term 'Brexing' is given when petz are bred with a modified file within the game which therefore alters the offspring in order to look more like the hexed file. It makes sure we produce puppies and kittens looking the way we want!
It is very popular in organisations such as the Petz Kennel Club in which members mate their titled petz in order to continue their 'pedigree' lines. It ensures that the puppies/kittens produced are able to be registered for showing as they match the breed standard and they have the pedigree family tree. For organizations other than the PKC it can be nice to produce litters from loved petz that look similar to their parents (or not so similar if you wish ;]).
There can be many different ways in which people brex. I have always used LNZ Pro on it's own and this guide shows the way I find the quickest and easiest to brex :]

Step 1 of Brexing:
- Firstly hex the dog/cat file in the exact way that you want your offspring to look.
- Once you have the hexed file place it within your game and adopt a first generation pet of this file. Name it something easy to remember like 'Hexed Version'.
- Go to your Adopted Petz folder and copy and paste the .pet file somewhere on your computer away from the Adopted Petz folder, your documents or desktop etc.
Step 2 of Brexing:
- Mate your two chosen petz together. Use Petza to speed up the offspring leaving the mother and becoming its own file. Name the offspring something easy to remember like 'Offspring'.
- Go to you Adopted Petz folder and copy and paste the 'Offspring' .pet file (regardless of what it looks like) somewhere on your computer away from the Adopted Petz folder, your documents or desktop etc.
Step 3 of Brexing:
The complicated bit ;]
The complicated bit ;]
- Now you have the two seperate .pet files saved somewhere to your computer. The 1st generation hexed file ('Hexed Version') and the 2nd generation + file ('Offspring')
- Open up the 'Offspring'.pet file in LNZ Pro. This is the file you want to end up with.
- Open up the 'Hexed Version' .pet file in LNZ Pro. This if the file that holds the content you want.
- The aim now is to copy and paste the 'Child' and 'Adult' section of the 'Hexed Version' .pet file over into the 'Offspring' .pet file (see image below)
- Firstly select the Child dropdown section and highlight the ENTIRE coding in the 'Hexed Version' file.
- Copy and Paste this over the ENTIRE coding in the Child dropdown section of the 'Offspring' file.
- Repeat the process for the Adult dropdown section.
- You will now have the entire coding for the adult and child section of the first generation hexed version transferred into your offspring file. Hit save on the offspring file and place it back into the Adopted Petz folder.
- You can now delete and forget about the 'Hexed Version' file as you no longer need this.
- Open your game and bring out your beautiful brexed offspring and check it's family tree! :D You will have a pet looking exactly how you want with the exact pedigree that you want!
- Repeat process to create an entire brexed litter from your chosen petz!
BREXING TIP: If your new brexed pet has the wrong eyelid colour then simple 'Restore Original Colours' and this should solve the issue.
